Woah, its a bit new around here. But no time like the present. Might as well dive in at the deep end...

- A Weekend In England
Bloc Party released their sophomore album "A Weekend In The City" this week, which looks likely to beat off stiff competition, and debut at the #1 spot in the UK. Its a glorious affair, continuing Bloc Party's stylish ambition, while retaining their notoriously spikey riffs and mechanical drumbeats. The album was first debuted through a "club tour" for fans early in the year. One of the songs debuted on that tour was Blue Moon, which can be seen in its original form below. This was seemingly developed further during the recording process, into what is now known as England. This is taken from the Japanese Edition of AWITC and is also available on The Prayer 7" as a b-side. I think its one of the more standout b-sides produced for The Prayer, and certainly a song that i eagerly awaited following the fanclub tour.

- Meanwhile, at home...
While most of the "cool kids" will probably stay in watching Skins tonight, there is, actually, plenty to do... Its Jam (indie night) at the Cell, and Siren Sessions is on to get you in the mood for a night out. Top notch music, give it a listen... They've got Lincoln's The Idlers in session tonight. Superb band already making a massive impression on the Lincoln scene. Larrikin Love play Nottingham Trent Uni tonight, which should be a fun time. Larrikin are abolutely awsome live. And i guess a few lucky people will be heading across to Doncaster for Kaiser Chiefs tommoro night, and likewise to Nottingham for CSS, and Bloc Party over the weekend.

Siren Sessions (6-7pm,
The Idlers in session)
